Our online ZINE COOP Shop (ZINE友店) sells works on consignment from:
- Hong Kong zinesters — this usually means the artist is based in Hong Kong or has strong cultural ties to the city.
- Friends of ZINE COOP — these are artists who we have met, often through the zine fair circuit in Asia, and have a social connection to.
By consignment, we mean that you send us your printed works, and if it sells we split the profits. Our consignment rate is 60:40 — you get 60% of the profit, and we get 40% of the profit.
Our process is as follows:
- Email us a short description of your zine, with the suggested price and at least one photo of the zine taken in front/on top of a plain color background. The description can be written in either English or Chinese.
- If possible, show us some inside pages of the zine and send some extra information about yourself.
- If we accept your zine…
- Mail us 3-5 physical copies of your zine. We will give you a mailing address over email. (You are responsible for all shipping costs.)
- We will sell your zine via our online shop, and if the opportunity arises, we may take it with us when we table at zine fairs as well.
Please note, ZINE COOP is a community platform and artist collective. We do not help zinesters with their design and print production process, and we are not a marketing channel for zines.
